If you like buying Saudi oil, you'll love buying Chinese solar! Featured

"If you like buying oil from the Saudis, you'll love buying solar from the Chinese!"— Thomas Friedman

Notes: See  "China Leading Global Race to Make Clean Energy," The New York Times, January 30, 2010

"Tianjin, China — China vaulted past competitors...last year to become the world's largest maker of wind turbines... China has also leapfrogged the West in the last two years to emerge as the world's largest manufacturer of solar panels...

These efforts to dominate renewable energy technologies raise the prospect that the West may someday trade its dependence on oil from the Mideast for a reliance on solar panels, wind turbines and other gear manufactured in China."

Thanks for posting this. I really liked Thomas Friedman's book "Hot, Flat, and Crowded." I cannot think of anything more patriotic for America and a better promoter of jobs than switching to a domestic supply of green renewal energy, such as solar, wind, geothermal, etc. and conserving energy.
